Problem Description

The challenge the customer was facing

There is a discharge chute from a primary crusher to a conveyor belt. Currently, the liners in use are made of white cast iron and have an approximate service life of 90 days. The client is looking for a white cast iron solution with a service life of 6 months. To achieve this, the client proposes using bimetallic liners made of A36 steel and ASTM A532 Class II Type B cast iron. The client will provide the liner drawings.

Technical Advantages

The main objective of achieving 6 months of operation without liner replacement was successfully accomplished. However, the chute design is causing material blockages, and the client’s engineering department is evaluating the removal of the chutes. This issue is not the responsibility of WA, and the client has stated that our liners have met their expectations.
